Soapbox #1:
This is a new thing I want to set up — a brief post where I can get on my soapbox and vent or rant about something. The goal here is a short post instead of my usual long-winded stuff!
For my first soapbox rant I will touch on my usual rant. WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK REDISTRIBUTION IS A GOOD IDEA???? More specifically what the hell is up with people redistributing BGP into an IGP? I just don’t get it. There is almost never a situation where you have no other option. iBGP to a “core” type device means no reason to redistribute on your WAN/MPLS router… oh also MPLS is a thing… don’t even need a route in the table for that to work. Firewalls tend to be my only exception.
Moral of the story: don’t redistribute. I’ll yell at you… for hours… 🙂
